Things To Consider While Deciding Where To Install Your Water Tank

As much as choosing the right tank is important, it is also essential to choose the right place where you are going to install your plastic water storage tank. Most of the time it is installed on the roof, but there are several things to consider before choosing the place you want to install it.

The Slope of the Location

One of the first things to consider is a stable ground. If the ground has any slope or it is not levelled, you are most likely to have a hazard on your hand. So, choose a space which is levelled.

Proximity to Toilets and Kitchen

We use water for a lot of purposes. It is mostly used in bathroom, kitchen, and garden. It is better to install your plastic water storage tank near to where you will need it. If you are going to use it only for gardening, then install it in your garden. You will need to take care of the plumbing accordingly.

Downpipe Location

Another way to choose the location is to install it near your downpipes. Instead, if you try to divert the downpipes or the length of the pipes becomes too long it will lead to more installation cost. We understand that doing this will limit the places where you can install it, but it will be more efficient.

The Consumer Compliance Checklist

You must remember to check the consumer compliance checklist. There are places where councils will need you to pay extra if you want to install it in a specific location.

Size and Space of Your Location

One of the major things to consider while choosing the location is to see the space available in your property. Some households prefer to have underground tanks when space is not available for an aboveground tank. But if you do have space to install it above ground, make sure it is enough for your plastic water storage tank.

Appearance of Your Property

If you live in an apartment building, the presence of the tank can be bothersome for other people. you can avoid any type of problem by making the tank, less noticeable. You can do that by placing it at the back of your home or concealing it with some plants.

So, consider all these factors when installing the plastic water storage tank at your home. Make sure the place you choose will allow having access to water efficiently.

Factors To Consider While Selecting The Size Of Your Water Tank

Factors To Consider While Selecting The Size Of Your Water Tank

Your tank is one of the main things that you buy right after you move into a new place. Without water supply, you won’t be able to do any necessary work at home. So, buying a plastic water storage tank should be one of your top priority. But the most common problem every consumer tends to have is the inability to decide the size of their plastic water storage tank. There are several factors that depend on which size of the water tank you should choose. Take a look at those factors.

The Size of Your Family and Their Daily Usage

The first factor you need to consider is the number of family members you have. Whether it is a two-member family or a four-member family, the size of your tank should change accordingly. The amount of water your plastic water storage tank is going to store should be enough for each member. Along with that, you should also consider the everyday usage of water. From kitchen to bathroom, car washing to gardening, every activity should be taken into account and approximately how much water you will be using every day.

Space Where You Are Installing It

The second thing to consider is where you are going to install it. Do you live in a home where you have a big roof? Or do you live in an apartment where a specific place is given to you for installing your plastic water storage tank? The bigger the size of your tank will be; the more space you will need to install it. If you have enough space then choose whichever size you want, otherwise, you will need to buy a smaller size.

The Cost and Your Budget

After considering these two factors, you need to consider your budget and the cost of the tank. The bigger the size of your plastic water storage tank, the more it will cost. So, choose one that is budget-friendly and yet it is of good quality.

The Main Source of Your Water Supply

Do you get underground water supply which can be used to fill your tank any time of the day? Or you live in a place where you get water supply from a specific source only twice a day? Depending on the source of your water supply, you can choose the size of your plastic water storage tank. If you live in a place where underground water is available all the time, you can buy a smaller size as it can be refilled twice or thrice a day. But if you get water supply only at a specific time, it is better to go for a bigger size.

So, when choosing the size of your plastic water storage tank, remember to consider all these factors.

While Being Quarantined At Home Don’t Waste Water Unnecessarily

It’s the third week of being quarantined at home in India. Summer is already here and people are getting restless while staying at home all the time. We tend to use a lot of water during the hot days in summer. On top of that, we have all become health conscious right now due to coronavirus. And every member of the family is at home which means water is getting spent more than normal. All of these factors can lead to only one conclusion. You might be refilling your domestic water storage tank, again and again, leading to water wastage more than normal. So how to make sure that we won’t do that? What steps can we take to save water as much as possible? Here are some ways that will help not only you but your whole family to save water.

Don’t refill the tank more than once. One of the easiest ways to make sure that you are not using water more than necessary is not refilling the tank. Knowing the size and capacity of your domestic water storage tank, use it accordingly. Understandably, your tank will get empty more than normal as everyone in your family is at home right now. But that doesn’t mean, you will refill it 3-4 times a day.

Do you have kids at home? Then, now is a good time to teach them the proper usage of water. Don’t let them play with water unnecessarily. We understand in summer it can seem unbearable, but playing with water will not only be a wastage but they might also fall sick.

Do not panic and take showers or wash your hands 20 times a day. You are not going out right now. So, there is no way for you to get infected, which means there is no need for you to disinfecting yourself and washing your hands too many times. You only need to disinfect if you go out to buy necessities or for any other emergency purposes.

Instead of taking baths or showers, use buckets. Did you know that while taking a bath we tend to use 40-50 gallons of water and while taking a shower, we use 17-20 gallons of water? So, if there are 4-5 members in your family and everyone takes a shower or use the bath, it will automatically empty half of the water in your domestic water storage tank. We are not even going to count the number of times every member of your family is showering in a day. So, to ensure you don’t waste water use only a bucket of water to take a bath.

After all, none of us knows what kind of future we are going to have. So, it is better to be conscious of the wastage we are making every day. Whether it’s water, food or money. Saving all of them seems to be the best choice right now.

So, stay home, stay safe and don’t waste water!!
