The Current Scenario Of Water Quality Due To Lockdown In India

The biggest positive thing that has happened due to the novel Coronavirus is the clean-up of the Earth. Since most of the world is in lockdown mode, it has made a good effect on the environment. India has been shut down for the last month where no car, no industries, no factories, etc. have been used. This has led to cleaner air and water in India. In this blog, Penguin Tank, a provider of plastic water storage tanks is going to give you a clear picture of how lockdown in India has made the water of the country clean within a few days.

If we look at the rivers of India, it is being said that the river Ganga has become clean in such a way which even the government haven’t been able to do in so many years. The main reason for this is the dumping of toxic materials by the factories without being treated have been stopped. People have stopped using the water for anything else except using it for supplying it to households. Tourism and other cultural activities have been stopped leading to the purification of water of all the rivers. In the river Yamuna, there have been reports of water level rising due to less usage of water for commercial purposes. The condition of all the rivers has changed so drastically that old local people are even saying that these rivers have suddenly gone back to their old self the way it was in their childhood.

Suffice to say, since the water sources have become so clean, it has also changed the current quality of the water that is supplied all over the country. On top of that, the weather in the country has also improved a lot. It is also being predicted that the underground level of the water will increase a lot this year due to heavy rainfall. As we are approaching the monsoon season, due to the absence of emission of carbon dioxide in the air, the air quality has improved too. Due to the shut-down of the industries, cars, and the aviation industry, the release of toxic gas in the air is almost close to none. This, in turn, will bring a lot of rain this monsoon season by improving the environment as a whole.

So, it is quite clear that even though this pandemic is a disaster to humans, but the lockdown has certainly made nature’s life easier. This will ultimately be beneficial to us. For the next year, you will be getting a lot more purified water in the plastic water storage tank of your home.

While Being Quarantined At Home Don’t Waste Water Unnecessarily

It’s the third week of being quarantined at home in India. Summer is already here and people are getting restless while staying at home all the time. We tend to use a lot of water during the hot days in summer. On top of that, we have all become health conscious right now due to coronavirus. And every member of the family is at home which means water is getting spent more than normal. All of these factors can lead to only one conclusion. You might be refilling your domestic water storage tank, again and again, leading to water wastage more than normal. So how to make sure that we won’t do that? What steps can we take to save water as much as possible? Here are some ways that will help not only you but your whole family to save water.

Don’t refill the tank more than once. One of the easiest ways to make sure that you are not using water more than necessary is not refilling the tank. Knowing the size and capacity of your domestic water storage tank, use it accordingly. Understandably, your tank will get empty more than normal as everyone in your family is at home right now. But that doesn’t mean, you will refill it 3-4 times a day.

Do you have kids at home? Then, now is a good time to teach them the proper usage of water. Don’t let them play with water unnecessarily. We understand in summer it can seem unbearable, but playing with water will not only be a wastage but they might also fall sick.

Do not panic and take showers or wash your hands 20 times a day. You are not going out right now. So, there is no way for you to get infected, which means there is no need for you to disinfecting yourself and washing your hands too many times. You only need to disinfect if you go out to buy necessities or for any other emergency purposes.

Instead of taking baths or showers, use buckets. Did you know that while taking a bath we tend to use 40-50 gallons of water and while taking a shower, we use 17-20 gallons of water? So, if there are 4-5 members in your family and everyone takes a shower or use the bath, it will automatically empty half of the water in your domestic water storage tank. We are not even going to count the number of times every member of your family is showering in a day. So, to ensure you don’t waste water use only a bucket of water to take a bath.

After all, none of us knows what kind of future we are going to have. So, it is better to be conscious of the wastage we are making every day. Whether it’s water, food or money. Saving all of them seems to be the best choice right now.

So, stay home, stay safe and don’t waste water!!
