Concrete water tanks have become quite popular nowadays due to the increase in the number of high-rise buildings and apartment complexes. It certainly has some advantages over other kinds of water storage tanks. But on the other hand, it has been observed that people are preferring plastic water storage tanks over concrete water tanks. Let us take a look at why this is happening and why people are preferring plastic water tanks.
We all know that the concrete water tank made of concrete is made just like an extension of the building. It is made in a way to make it safe while storing water from where it can be easily supplied to every family within the vicinity. The water is collected from the main source and then supplied to all connected places, in most cases to the people living in the building or the apartment complexes.
As much as usage of concrete tanks has some advantages, it has some limitations too. One of them is that not everyone is capable of affording it. Building and maintain a concrete tank needs a large sum of money. If it is taken care of by the society people equally, then it is plausible but some households might find it too costly. Plastic water storage tanks, on the other hand, are comparatively quite cheaper.
Convenience is another limitation for concrete tanks in many cases. It takes up a lot of space to build a concrete tank. It also requires a strong foundation. This will require an infrastructure with a lot of strength and durability. Not all building complexes have that and even if the concrete tank is built, over time it tends to damage the roof. It puts a lot of pressure on the building. So, if you don’t have enough space and durability, it is best to choose plastic water storage tanks. It does not require a strong foundation for installing it.
In short, a plastic water storage tank has a lot fewer risks of damaging the building and it is quite easy to afford too. You can easily install them anywhere you want. Individual tanks for every apartment also sort out the shortage of water if some families use more water than others. As it comes in various capacities, you can buy one according to your needs.
All these reasons make it difficult for installing a concrete tank instead of plastic water storage tank.
