Vastu Tips For Overhead Water Storage Tank

Overhead water storage tanks are an important feature of any property. It is a great extension to architecture and help in storing water for drinking, washing, irrigation, agricultural and many other purposes. Water is considered a blessing that ensures abundance in health and prosperity. The placement of a water tank plays an important role in bringing luck, wealth, harmony, prosperity and joy in life, according to Vastu Shastra. Let’s read the following:

Location

The right position for an overhead water tank is in the west or south-west side of the property. Although northeast belongs to the water element, it is not good to place a hefty tank as its a bad omen to make this corner heavy. However, it is okay to place a small tank such as a loft tank.

Distance From The Ground

The tank should be placed at least two feet above the uppermost slab as it enables the pressure of water flow in a better way. The tank must not be in direct touch with the roof slab as it can cause dampness in the building.

Material

During old times, cement water tanks were quite common. Today people are moving to plastic water storage tanks. Penguin water storage tanks are manufactured using best quality plastic material LLDPE(linear low-density polyethylene) that is BPA free and safe for water storage. Dark colors such as black or blue are recommended the most as it prevents the water from harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun.

Leak-Proof

There should not be any leakage of water from any direction. It is considered highly unauspicious as it encourages the outflow of money from the property.

Different Tank For Different Purpose

Water determines our health and therefore water safety is important. Therefore install two tanks, one for drinking and cooking and another one for the toilet and bathroom. Clean the tank regularly to avoid any kind of water contamination preferably every three to four months.

Avoidance

Do not place the tank in the middle of the property. This middle area is the Bramhasthan. If there is a load on the Brahma, the lives of people living in the property will become miserable. You would not want to live there for a very long time too. Do not place the tank above the kitchen and bedroom too.

It won’t be wrong to say that an overhead water tank is a black dot on the forehead of the property that protects the place from the evil eye. Follow these tips to store water and bring prosperity into your place.

Make Your August 15 Celebration More Eco-Friendly & Meaningful

The historic day of India, 15th August marks the perfect occasion for celebration unitedly. This day is celebrated in all parts of India with great enthusiasm by people of all religions, caste, and creed. Every individual show an extra love and attention towards the nation on this special day and try to do something different than a regular day. With the changing times, the modes of celebration have also gone a massive change. Let us encourage others to celebrate this Independence Day in a more eco-friendly and meaningful manner with the following:

Clean-Up

Clean up everything, not only your inside of the house but also your surroundings. Make sure to clean up the mess that is created after the flag hoisting ceremony. Make sure that no litter is left behind after the celebration is over. Act responsibly and do not cause any inconvenience to the sick or elderly citizens.

Save Water

Save water as much as you can to save our Mother Earth. Make sure that no water gets wasted during or after the celebration. Water is scarce and therefore, do not let it run down the gutter without a reason. Saving begins at home and what better way to save water than to begin with our homes? Whether it is in the kitchen or bathroom, avoid any water wastage, reuse water whenever and wherever you can.

Feed The Hungry

While on the go, we come across many needy and hungry people and animals. It does not require a lot of time, money or effort but can make their day brighter and tummy full with our small effort. It is easy to make a habit of carrying some food along with us and feed them on the way. Give it a start if you are not doing already. Get Happy.

No Loud Speaker

Loudspeakers cause noise pollution and discomfort to the ears of kids, elderly and sick people. Instead of playing out loud patriotic songs on the loudspeaker, get together and arrange a singing podium. Sing it out together and feel proud to be an Indian. Jai Hind!

Spread awareness in your housing and commercial complexes to minimize the challenges that our country is facing and make the celebration a constructive and not a destructive one. Penguin Tank hopes that you celebrate this August Fifteenth thoughtfully and sustainably! Happy Independence Day!

This Monsoon, Learn To Collect Rainwater At Home -Part 2

We have discussed the five methods of collecting rainwater at home in the previous month’s blog here This Monsoon,Learn To Collect Rainwater At Home.  This blog will focus on the remaining methods in detail.

Natural Recharge Of Wells And Bore Wells

A recharge pit is one meter in diameter and six meters deep that is linked with concrete rings having perforations. These perforations let filtered and de-silted water seep from the sides increasing the groundwater table. Rooftop rainwater is led through pipes with a filter at the end of the open dug wells.

Rain Reservoir

Rainwater that simply falls on the rooftop is made through run a pipe to a storage facility like a sump or a tank. Later on, this water can be filtered to purify. This water can be used for washing and gardening purposes easily. This method helps in saving energy and a win-win situation for the environment and the economy.

Rainwater Tarp

The rainwater tarp is one of the simplest methods to collect rainwater. A tarp, PVC pipe, and a container or a barrel are required. Check the elevation to make this method work. The elevation shift can take the shape of a slope or a small hill as it will determine the direction through which the water will flow.

Plastic-Lined Pond

A manmade pond can be created in the garden area that should be connected via the gutters and pipes to an elevated structure. First, a pond needs to be constructed that should be at least five feet deep. Then a plastic pond liner can be used over the hole to collect rainwater.

Other Unconventional Methods

There are other unconventional methods by creating or using some old objects at home to make rainwater saving easy and effective for future use. Some of the best examples include watering cans, large drums or pots, old plastic water tanks that are currently not in use, etc. Water stored here can be used for many miscellaneous purposes such as washing the outside of the house, ashing the car or garage, watering the plants, etc.

Therefore, do store rainwater in whichever way you find it convenient. Enjoy the monsoon and install the best quality plastic water tank for your home form Penguin Tank.
