• In urban areas, a stormwater line is an option out to the street. The water from an overflowing tank can be directed to the stormwater line.
• Buy another tank to store excess stormwater if there is limited space in your rainwater tank and it often overflows. This also gives you the extra benefit of additional water catchment which is very important.
• If you reside out of town, pipe the water at least two meters away from the rainwater tank. Again it is important to divert it down the hill away from your house. Watch out where the water is flowing after coming out from the end of the pipe. It is quite obvious that you do not want to flood a garden, shed or courtyard everything your tank overflows.
